FURRY TOPS BIG-BOARD TOURNEY NO. 21!
Jesse Furry, Delmar, Delaware, has won Tournament no. 21 of the Great Lakes International Checkers Conference, held July 14 to Nov. 6, 2009, on ItsYourTurn.com. Furry, also known as "Flipper Cowboy" and "Tinman_1944," was undefeated 8 wins, 3 draws, and no losses for 19 points. Michigan players Gary Kehn, of Warren, and Vern Cloud, of Buchanan, tied for second, only one point behind at 18, and Neil Wenberg, of Harmony, Pennsylvania, followed closely with 17.
12 amateur players of the 100-square game competed in this event.
